RIVR today announced a collaboration project with Swiss Post and Migros Online to test automated doorstep deliveries in Regensdorf, Zürich, Switzerland. During the test, select Swiss Post parcels and Migros Online grocery orders will be delivered by RIVR’s doorstep delivery robots.

Swiss Post will serve as the logistics partner for both services, with Migros Online deliveries integrated through their existing relationship. The field test is designed to explore how automation can improve efficiency, reduce physical strain for delivery staff, and enhance the overall customer experience — without disrupting proven logistics workflows. To ensure safety, the autonomous delivery process will be continuously monitored by human oversight.

“This initiative gives us the opportunity to understand how autonomous delivery systems might support our people and processes,” said Pascal Stalder, Project Lead at Swiss Post. “We’re especially interested in the potential to reduce walking distances and heavy lifting — while continuing to deliver the service quality our customers expect.”
“At Migros Online, we’re always looking at how we can improve service and convenience for our customers,” said Martin Kohler, Product Manager – Delivery, Migros Online. “Working with Swiss Post and RIVR allows us to explore how future-ready technologies can support reliable and sustainable grocery delivery — in a way that fits seamlessly into everyday life.”

At the heart of the field test is RIVR’s autonomous delivery platform — built using Physical AI, a combination of adaptive intelligence and mobile robotics purpose-built for real-world operation. Unlike conventional delivery robots, RIVR’s systems are designed for doorstep precision, navigating complex neighbourhood environments to deliver items directly to residents with minimal environmental footprint.

“Working with Swiss Post and Migros Online shows what’s possible when innovation is grounded in operational reality,” said Marko Bjelonic, CEO and Co-Founder of RIVR. “This is not about replacing human delivery — it’s about strengthening the system as a whole.”

The Regensdorf municipal council welcomes and supports this project, recognizing the potential of robotics and intelligent systems to positively shape the future of public services.

Together, the three parties aim to test if automation can be introduced thoughtfully — with a focus on improving everyday logistics, supporting frontline teams, and maintaining the trust that Swiss consumers place in their delivery providers.
